Some of the biggest names in music have come together to record a song dedicated to keeping Earth safe. But this song is more than just a feel-good anthem, it’s a powerful tool for fighting climate change.
Here’s how: Thanks to the generosity of the song’s creators, every time this song is downloaded, streamed or shared, Friends of the Earth and the UN Foundation will receive the revenue from sales and royalties. And we’re putting our share of the proceeds directly into our plan to keep carbon in the ground and out of the atmosphere.
But we need your help to #SharetheLoveSong and make it into the biggest hit the Earth has ever had. Let’s get started!
See what we're doing with the royalties (and add your voice)
At Friends of the Earth, we see climate change in pretty stark terms.
It's real. Scary real.
Human consumption of fossil fuels is its leading cause.
It follows that the only path to a healthy climate is the radical reduction of fossil fuel consumption and the development of a 100% renewable energy system.
So we’re attacking carbon pollution at its source: the extraction of fossil fuels from the ground. Friends of the Earth’s Keep it in the Ground campaign is demanding that President Obama act decisively to place a moratorium on all new drilling, fracking and mining for oil, gas and coal on federal land and in federal waters.
If Obama takes this step it would ensure that almost half of the potential emissions from U.S. fossil fuels never leave the ground.
That’s just a first step, but it’s a big one. Sign the petition now, and then Join Earth’s Workforce to stay in the loop on future actions you can take to help us keep fossil fuels in the ground!
